Thousands without power, APD responds to vehicle hitting pole in southeast Austin AUSTIN (KXAN) -- More than 3,000+ customers were without power in southeast Austin, and the Austin Police Department confirmed a vehicle ran into a pole Thursday.APD said the crash happened at Willow Creek Drive and East Riverside Drive shortly after 9 p.m. How to check for Central Texas power outages Due to the pole being down, officers closed the lane. Denny Sanford child pornography inquiry The South Dakota Supreme Court ruled Thursday that affidavits from an investigation into child pornography allegations against billionaire philanthropist T. Denny Sanford must be unsealed.In 2019, South Dakota investigators searched his email account, as well as his cellular and internet service providers, for evidence of possession of child pornography, after his accounts were flagged by a technology firm.Sanford, the state’s richest man, was not charged after the South Dakota attorney general’s office said its investigation into the allegations found no prosecutable offenses within the state’s jurisdiction.Sanford had sought to bar affidavits used to issue search warrants in the case. Crews battling residential structure fire in Westlake Firefighters were battling a tree fire that spread to a residential structure Thursday night in Westlake, authorities announced. Crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the blaze, located in the 1500 block of West Cambria Street, just before 8: 20 p.m. When firefighters arrived at the scene, heavy flames could be seen coming out of the structure’s attic, LAFD said. 11-year-old killed, father hospitalized in Arcadia hit-and-run crash A couple was arrested Monday for a wrong-way hit-and-run crash that killed an 11-year-old girl and left her father hospitalized in Arcadia.The suspects were identified as Priscilla Marie Cornejo, 39, and her husband Johnathan David Cornejo, 33, by California Highway Patrol.The couple was arrested for their alleged involvement in a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on the 60 Freeway, near Crossroads Parkway on March 22, 2023.Priscilla was driving in a sedan going westbound on the 60 Freeway as she was being followed by her husband who was driving a pickup truck.Around 4:06 a.m., Priscilla collided with the rear end of a tractor-trailer vehicle while driving, said CHP. Over $1K worth of clothing stolen from Berkeley North Face store: police (KRON) -- More than $1,000 worth of merchandise from The North Face outlet was stolen earlier this week, the Berkeley Police Department (BPD) said in a Facebook post.
