FULTON COUNTY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Dispatchers, firefighters, and emergency management crews are getting ready for the increase in calls tomorrow due to potential weather-related injuries, accidents, and calls for assistance. ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) -- New York State officially has a GOP Chairman and it’s someone who’s pretty familiar with the position. Ed Cox will be returning to that seat after former Chairman Nick Langworthy won a Congressional seat this past November. Our Capitol Correspondent Amal Tlaige attended the the Republican Convention on Monday and explains what Cox has in store for the Republican party. ST. LOUIS -- The body of the officer killed in Hermann, Missouri last night is being returned. A procession for Detective Sgt. Mason Griffith is going from St. Louis County to Gasconade County.Flags and first responders at the Clayton Road overpassThe number of vehicles in the convoy was small, but there was a large show of support along the route. ST. LOUIS - St. Louis native and three-time Grammy winner Nelly will perform at the 121st Missouri State Fair this summer.The hip-hop mogul is scheduled to appear at the fair's Grandstand stage on Friday, Aug. 18. Tickets are $50 for the track and $40 for the grandstand.Nelly is the fourth concert announcement for the fair. Previously announced shows include Tyler Hubbard with Parmalee (Aug. 10), LAiney Wilson with Jackson Dean (Aug. 11), and Cory Asbury and CAIN (Aug. 16).Tickets for all fair concerts will go on sale at 9 a.m. on June 27 through Etix. The parents of a student killed in a 2019 school shooting in Highlands Ranch have refused to accept a $387,000 payout from the school as they push to make more information about the attack public.Maria and John Castillo, parents of slain 18-year-old Kendrick Castillo, have not accepted the settlement money in a civil lawsuit they brought against STEM School Highlands Ranch, their attorney, Dan Caplis, said Monday.The parents hope refusing the funds will help them in a fight with the school over releasing more information about the May 7, 2019, school shooting.Kendrick Castillo was hailed as a hero after he rushed at a shooter who had burst into his classroom that day. He was killed and eight others were injured. The Broncos’ big splash on Day 1 of the NFL’s free agency negotiating period came on the offensive line, but the franchise also moved quickly to identify its backup quarterback.They did so by agreeing to a two-year, $10 million deal with former Las Vegas and New England signal-caller Jarrett Stidham, according to league sources.Stidham played for the Raiders in 2022 and spent two seasons before that with New England.He started the Raiders’ final two games of last year after the team made it clear it was moving on from Derek Carr. A student at Leuzinger High School in Lawndale died last week after suffering an undisclosed injury during a physical education class.The accident happened on Thursday around 1 p.m., according to officials from the Centinela Valley Union High School District.Details about the accident are sparse, but school district officials said the unnamed student was taken to the hospital by emergency services and later died from their injuries.The school district said it has increased counseling support at Leuzinger High School, and a team is in place to assist students and staff who may need help processing the feelings that come from the "tragic loss" of the student."Please join us in respecting the family’s privacy as they process this unthinkable loss and hold them in your hearts," said Cammie Vogel, Director of Communications & Events at CVUHSD.Leuzinger High School is located at 4118 West Rosecrans Ave. in Lawndale, south of Los Angeles proper.
