2 dead after July 4 Columbia County crash CLAVERACK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two people have died, and a Ghent man has been arrested after a two-vehicle car crash in the town of Claverack. The crash took place around 7:05 p.m. Tuesday on State Route 66 just north of County Route 18 (Fish and Game Club Road). Police said a BMW being driven by Kenttory Brown, 38, of Ghent, crossed the double yellow line on Route 66 and hit a Ford Focus head-on. The Focus was being driven by 41-year-old Stephanie DeForest, of Columbia County. Police said Brown's vehicle was in the roadway and on fire after the crash. DeForest's car was found heavily damaged, off the roadway, and against a broken utility pole.DeForest was taken to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries where she later died. 2 killed, 14 shot in violent July 4th in Hayward (KRON) -- Multiple people were shot on Tuesday night in several instances of violence across the City of Hayward, the Hayward Police Department confirmed to KRON4. Hayward PD is investigating at least five separate incidents, including two fatalities.The incidents involved four shootings and one stabbing, according to Hayward PD.
