Sunday Rain Grab the umbrella and rain gear! It’ll be a soggy, cooler and breezy day.We have showers moving in this morning. Rain will turn steadier through the morning, heavy at times this afternoon. With the showers and wind out of the east/northeast temperatures will be stuck in the 40s. We won’t have a lot of forward movement with our temperatures today. It’ll be breezy this afternoon with winds gusting 20-25 mph at times.This is a rain event for us. Up north, some of the highest elevations could get a half a foot or more of snow. Person dead after stabbing at Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus A person is dead after a second violent incident in less than a month at the iconic Kowloon Restaurant on Route 1 in Saugus.Less than two weeks after the now-infamous “Thanksgiving Eve Brawl” went viral and led to the arrests of four people, authorities say the Saugus Police Department again responded there on Saturday night and found the victim in the parking lot.“Authorities are investigating a fatal incident in Saugus Saturday evening,” Essex County DistrictAttorney Paul Tucker and Saugus Police Chief Michael Ricciardelli announced in a release. “The victim was found with a knife wound in the parking lot of Kowloon Restaurant, 948 Broadway, Saugus, after 9:00 p.m.”The victim, who has not been identified, was rushed to Mass General Hospital, where they “pronounced deceased a short time later,” according to the DA.More information is expected to be provided after noon on Sunday, according to authorities.The fatal stabbing is the second violent incident at the Kowloon to make headli...

Family seeks justice as Saskatchewan Mountie goes to trial for first-degree murder PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. — Brett Herman thinks back fondly on his childhood, running outside his grandfather’s house in northern Saskatchewan with his younger brother chasing behind. He describes his brother, Braden Herman, as a gentle giant who would never hurt a fly.Brett Herman says he never would have imagined that years later, his younger brother would be killed and the accused would be a veteran police officer. “I really don’t know how to deal with this,” Brett Herman says. Bernie Herman, a former Mountie, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Braden Herman in 2021. 20-year-old man shot during carjacking while leaving for work in Bolingbrook BOLINGBROOK, Ill. — A 20-year-old man was shot during a carjacking while he was trying to leave for work late Saturday night in Bolingbrook, police said.Bolingbrook Police Department officers were called around 11:45 p.m. to the 400 block of North Bolingbrook Drive and found the man with a gunshot wound to the leg when they arrived. Man arrested after Naperville man found dead in Bolingbrook parking lot in 2022 Police said the man said he was walking to his car to go to work when two men who were wearing ski masks and demanded his car and keys. One of the men shot him in the leg.The two men then took the man's black Dodge Charger and left the area, according to police. The man was taken to a local hospital and is stable.Neither of them have been located yet. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 630-226-8620. 4 family members dead, suspect fatally shot by police in Queens: NYPD FAR ROCKAWAY, Queens (WPIX) — A man is believed to have fatally stabbed four family members, including two children, before he was shot and killed by police in Queens Sunday morning, officials said. Authorities responded to the incident between Brookhaven and Elk Drive in Far Rockaway at around 5 a.m., according to the NYPD. Four people were pronounced dead at the scene and a 61-year-old woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition with multiple stab wounds, police said. The young 911 caller said her cousin was killing her family members, according to NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey. The suspect, identified as Courtney Gordon, fatally stabbed a 12-year-old girl, an 11-year-old boy, a 44-year-old woman, and a man in his 30s at the home before setting the couch on fire on his way out the door, Maddrey said.
