DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A 13-year-old Ohio boy has died after participating in a TikTok challenge.Jacob Stevens, of Greenfield, was taken off life support this week after he overdosed on Benadryl.The social media challenge advises users to take 12 to 14 pills to hallucinate. TikTok removed all videos relating to the challenge and is now offering resources for substance abuse.Justin Stevens, Jacob’s father, had confirmed on a GoFundMe page that his son would be removed from life support because he had "no brain activity.""We do not think it's fair to keep him on this," wrote Justin Stevens, who was asking for donations "so that we can have a proper funeral and send off."Jacob’s parents described him as well-mannered, funny and loving. ELGIN, Texas (KXAN) — A Texas high school cheerleader was hospitalized Tuesday night after a shooting in a grocery store parking lot. Elgin Police said a 25-year-old man fired shots into a car at an H-E-B parking lot and injured two people. Lynn Shearer, owner of Woodland's Elite Cheer Co., said four cheerleaders who go to her gym were involved in the shooting. "It was unfortunate. These girls were just trying to get home," Shearer said. Shearer said the cheerleaders carpool from the Austin area to her gym in Eglin."These kids have grown up in our gym. We've known them for years, some of them literally, since they were, you know, 8, 10 years old," Shearer said. ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) -- A Round Rock middle school was placed on a brief lockdown Wednesday morning after reports of a "suspicious" person with weapons nearby. Hernandez Middle School was placed on lockdown while the Round Rock Independent School District investigated the reports, Dr. Patricia Ephlin with RRISD said.RRISD didn't find evidence of a person with weapons nearby, and the lockdown was lifted. Ephlin said the middle school will resume the day as scheduled. Parents and guardians were notified when the lockdown was issued, according to Ephlin. GREENFIELD, N.Y. (NEWS10) - On Sunday morning, state Forest Rangers were called to Daniel's Road State Forest to assist two hikers who called for help after getting lost on the trail. Rangers were called by Ray Brook Dispatch around 12:30 p.m. to find hikers who had become disoriented while trying to make their way back to their parking area. The hikers had become lost and disoriented while trying to return to Daniels Road, where they had parked. They were directed by phone to walk in the proper direction, and met by the ranger to return to the trailhead around 2:45 p.m.When located, it was found that the hikers had traveled about 13 miles - far more than the 5 miles they had intended. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - The Animal Protection Agency of Missouri is closed Wednesday in Olivette after a security incident Tuesday night. The organization had to activate their "Dangerous Person Protocol." They say everyone is safe, including the animals. The APA is expected to reopen for adoptions Thursday, April, 20. They are taking Wednesday off to let staff recover. Mental health professionals will be available for APA staff.The APA released this statement about the incident.
