Police respond to fatal crash on I-87 in Clifton Park

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police responded to a fatal car crash that happened around 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Police say Charlain Danaher, 80, of Ballston Spa, was pronounced dead on scene. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! Police say a preliminary investigation determined a car driving southbound exited the roadway, drove over the median into the northbound lanes, and struck the car driven by Danaher head-on. Four passengers of the southbound car were taken to Albany Medical Center and were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.This crash is still under investigation. Participants will also be able to take home a Narcan rescue kit that includes two doses of Narcan, a rescue breathing face shield, a certificate of training, a drug disposal system, and a mental health and substance use disorder resource guide. ALTON, Ill. - The Madison County State's Attorney's Office has charged a 19-year-old and a juvenile for the killing of an Alton teenager.The shooting happened Tuesday, May 2, around 12:50 p.m. in the 2600 block of Maxey Street. The victim was shot in the chest and later died from his injuries at a local hospital.In the aftermath of the shooting, homicide detectives with the Alton Police Department spoke with several witnesses at the scene. Prosecutor from Kim Gardner’s office dies on I-270 Police claim investigators identified a juvenile suspect and took that individual into custody. An adult suspect, identified as Marquan Knight, allegedly fled the scene before police arrived. That's the key finding from the 2023 City of St. Louis reassessment report released Thursday, aligning with a trend of rising home costs around Missouri. ST. LOUIS - Workers from one St. Louis-area labor union on strike after their contract expired a few days, placing some St. Louis area construction projects are on hold. The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 513 are working to negotiate a new contract with the Associated General Contractors of St. Louis. A judicial investigation began Thursday after police in the northern Front Range plains town of LaSalle shot and killed a 38-year-old man in a vehicle deemed suspicious at a Family Dollar store, authorities said.The shooting happened Wednesday evening after a person notified the LaSalle Police Department of the suspicious vehicle near the store, a news release from Sgt. Mike Johnston has now brought in more direct campaign contributions than Kelly Brough as the two most well-monied candidates in the first round of the Denver mayor’s race face off in the runoff stage of the election.The Brough and Johnston campaigns filed reports this week covering their fundraising from March 30 through April 30. Brough, the top fundraiser in the field of 16 candidates in the primary election, brought in $228,761 during the first month of the runoff. She also recorded $800 in in-kind contributions and $10,255 in refunds.Johnston meanwhile raised $283,482, per his campaign’s report. He received $1,253 in in-kind contributions and refunded $18,465.That roughly $55,000 advantage in April fundraising was enough to push Johnston ahead of Brough when it came to total campaign contributions so far during the city’s 2023 election cycle.
