Max Homa: Golf’s social media star-turned-Masters contender By DAVE SKRETTA (AP Sports Writer)AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Max Homa has a Twitter feed that reads like a “Saturday Night Live” script. The world’s fifth-ranked player is quick-witted, cheeky and self-deprecating, and his one-liners zing hard and fast and with about as much destruction as a skulled 3-iron. Take the time Homa arrived for the Sony Open, and a lovely card was waiting to welcome him to Oahu’s south shore. It read: “Aloha Max Honma. Welcome to Hawaii.” He tweeted a picture of it and said simply: “Play better.”Indeed, given how well Homa’s playing these days, you’d think everyone would know how to spell his name. He’s won five times since holding off the equally affable Joel Dahmen to win the Wells Fargo Championship in 2019, including another Wells Fargo title last year and a victory at the Farmers Insurance Open in January.Homa’s brilliant golf game has suddenly matched his social media savvy. With i...

2 women ejected from vehicle, killed in crash on 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles Two women are dead after they were ejected from their vehicle during a rollover crash on the 110 Freeway in the Vermont-Slauson neighborhood of South Los Angeles. The women's vehicle was headed south at about 1:45 a.m. when their vehicle hit the right embankment near Gage Avenue, then struck a tree and rolled over onto the No. 4 lane of the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.Further complicating matters, another vehicle headed south then struck the women once they were on the roadway, officials said. The driver of that second vehicle, a man, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The women were declared dead at the scene, and no other injuries were reported. It's unknown if the women were wearing seatbelts, but it appears that speed is a factor, said Roberto Gomez of the CHP, though that remains to be confirmed.

Driver, 4 passengers arrested after wild police chase in Los Angeles Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department took five people into custody Wednesday night after a pursuit involving a suspected car thief who was believed to be armed and dangerous.  Sky5 picked up the nearly hourlong pursuit in the eastbound lanes of the 10 Freeway at around 10:30 p.m. Shortly after that, the driver, in what appeared to be a dark colored Honda, exited the freeway and was driving at speeds as high as 60 miles per hour on surface streets.  Aerial footage from Sky5 captured the driver blowing through red lights, making blind turns and narrowly avoiding collisions with other motorists on the road.  At West 18th and Bonnie Brae streets, in the area of Pico-Union, the suspect slowed the vehicle to a stop and two passengers, a male and a female jumped out of the vehicle, before the driver, again, took off. Both passengers were later taken into custody.  At Courtland Street, near Venice Boulevard, the driver slowed again and yet another passenger, a male, got...

6 Hours per Week: That’s How Little Time With Family We Get on Average!

6 Hours per Week: That’s How Little Time With Family We Get on Average! Spending quality time with family members is easier said than done. Even though most — if not, all — of us would like to do it, other endeavors keep the majority of us from enjoying our weekdays, and even weekends with our loved ones. It’s quite a sad reality but there are ways to relish our time better when we’re with them! Why It’s Hard to Find Hours to Spend Time With Family MembersSince the dawn of civilization, it’s been a human prerequisite to do things to live. Sometimes, however, we can get too preoccupied doing those that we forget who we mainly do it for. According to a poll by OnePoll — that was initiated by McCain Foods — 56% of the families they surveyed said that work was the main reason why they don’t get to spend much time with their loved ones. As for the younger folks, 29% of them are always busy doing homework. And even if the whole family is at home, 27% of them are too caught up with household chores. It’s already difficult to come home from work early, do homewor...

Dally in the Valley: Coachella is back with a stellar lineup

Dally in the Valley: Coachella is back with a stellar lineup Dally in the Valley: It’s Coachella time again, so we know what that means. Outfits are being chosen, accommodations booked, and the lineup is being carefully scanned as attendees circle the acts that they simply cannot miss. There’s nothing quite like a giant music festival, and they don’t get any more gigantic than Coachella (at least not in this country). As ever, the lineup is impressive in its diversity of genre, era, gender and culture, and simply the high level of quality. Headliners Bad Bunny, Blackpink and Frank Ocean have enough pulling power between them to excite a massive amount of people from a huge array of fanbases. But the lineup is overflowing with gems, top to bottom, Friday to Sunday (both weekends).Perhaps the most “vintage” band on the bill is Blondie. The band that arguably invented pop-punk by being both of those things back when nobody thought that you could, has always managed to attract a varied fan base, thanks to the genre-defying music and the undistille...

What Could THCV Offer Me? — A Closer Look At The Hemp-Derived THCV View the original article about Hemp-Derived THCV at Real Tested CBD.Before the 2018 US Farm Bill passed, “THC” only had one meaning: “delta-9 THC.” However, due to the recent explosion of hemp-derived THC alternatives, customers and manufacturers must specify which THC molecule they’re talking about. While delta-8 THC is the most in-demand hemp THC compound, there are a dizzying number of THC alternatives online and in smoke shops. There’s not much data on THCV, but some customers have begun seeing THCV on lab reports for their CBD oils.Even if you’re not interested in consuming straight THCV, it’s worth knowing what this hemp cannabinoid could offer to make an informed purchase. What Sets THCV Apart From Other THC Cannabinoids?“THC” is usually associated with psychoactive effects, but recent reports suggest there’s a lot of variation in ...

Meet the man who plays the organ during San Francisco Giants games

Meet the man who plays the organ during San Francisco Giants games Steve Hogan’s timing was impeccable, signing on as ballpark organist for the San Francisco Giants in the summer of 2010, right as all the fun was about to get started.“I sailed through three World Series in my first five years,” he says of the team’s championship run in 2010, 2012 and 2014. “It’s amazing. It just worked out that way — being in the right place at the right time.”The team has had its share of ups and downs since that last banner was hung at 24 Willie Mays Plaza, but fans have always been able to count on hearing Hogan’s lively organ work during day games.“I just think it’s a fun extra dimension,” says Hogan, who lives in Castro Valley with his wife, Johanna, and teenage sons, Brady and Liam. “Just the knowledge that there is a real living, breathing human being doing this makes it a little more fun. It just adds to the ambience and experience.”Hogan grew up in the Boston area and attended countless Red Sox games with his family at legendary Fenway Park.“(Ballpar...
