ROCHESTER, Minn. — A law enforcement sting to catch child predators netted one of their own last week when, court documents allege, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Cpl. Mathew Richard Adamson attempted to lure an undercover cop posing as a 13-year-old girl into sexual acts.Adamson, 44, is charged in Olmsted County District Court with attempting to hire a child under 14 years old for prostitution, soliciting a child through electronic communication to engage in sexual conduct and engaging in electronic communication relating to sexual conduct with a child, all felonies.Judge Jeffrey Kritzer on Friday ordered Adamson to be released on $10,000 bail provided he not use the internet, have no contact with children and abstain from controlled substances and alcohol. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Police Department swore in six new officers on Monday. Police Chief Eric Hawkins said the new hires come at a time when recruitment for law enforcement is down across the country.The police chief said the new members will help relieve some of the pressure current officers are facing. A former Loveland Police Department officer was arrested Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl while on duty in late July.Dylan Miller, 28, is accused of kidnapping, sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, unlawful sexual conduct by a peace officer, sexual assault, official oppression and misconduct, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office announced in a news release.Miller was fired from the department on Monday, Police Chief Tim Doran said at a news conference.The girl reported the assault to police on Oct. 23, and Miller was placed on administrative leave when he reported for his next shift on Oct. 27.
