TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — On December 23, 1823, the Troy Sentinel published "A Visit from St. Nicholas." Two hundred years later, it's one of the most famous Christmas diddies around, and more commonly known by its first line rather than its title. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — At around 12:40 p.m. on Saturday, Albany police responded to a stabbing on North Lake Avenue for a reported stabbing. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The state of Missouri is expecting a decline in general revenue in 2024 following a record-setting budget approved earlier this year. The projections leave some lawmakers concerned about the state's future. By Bay City NewsEighteen people were arrested by San Francisco police in anti-shoplifting operations this week in the city, according to police.The San Francisco Police Department said the operations were conducted Tuesday on retail stores located in the 700 block of Mission Street and in the 200 block of Winston Drive.Two of the people arrested were booked at San Francisco County Jail #1 for outstanding warrants, in addition to the on-view theft charges, while a suspect was booked into the same jail for on-view felony theft charges, according to police.Twelve suspects were cited for shoplifting and released from the scene. (BCN) -- Two persons were apprehended Friday by Belmont police officers who responded to a larceny call at Walmart on Hawley Avenue.According to the Belmont Police Department, the suspects, identified as Jaqualla Monique Qua Simmons and Dyshaune Boyd, were reported as using pepper spray on and trying to hit store employees with a vehicle.When police officers arrived around noon and prevented the suspects' vehicle from leaving, Simmons, who was driving it, refused to stop and attempted to hit a Belmont Police vehicle.A police chase ensued, during which the suspects' vehicle struck a motorist on Wilkinson Boulevard near the Catawba River Bridge, police said.
