Keep umbrellas and rain jackets handy, because waves of wet weather will continue to sporadically roll through the Bay Area all day Saturday.But Bay Area residents will likely wake up to blue skies by Sunday, as forecasters say a high pressure system is expected to arrive in the second half of the weekend and continue into the holiday weekend.On Saturday, the National Weather Service’s forecast calls for morning showers and afternoon rain, with isolated thunderstorms scattered throughout the region.The National Weather Service said some of the most widespread, heavy rain rolled into the region overnight, especially up in the North Bay and Santa Cruz mountains. (CNN) — Gaza’s largest hospital, Al-Shifa, has become a flashpoint in Israel’s war in the enclave, which began when Hamas militants crossed the border into Israel on October 7, killing around 1,200 people.Palestinians and humanitarian agencies say the current fighting in and around Al-Shifa is proof of Israel’s wanton disregard for civilian life in Gaza, while Israel accuses Hamas of using the medical center as a shield for its operations.On top of providing medical care, the hospital has been a key shelter for Palestinian civilians fleeing Israeli bombardment in Gaza.Since launching its operation at Al-Shifa this week, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed it found a tunnel shaft and military equipment, but has yet to show proof of the large-scale command and control center it alleges is there. (KRON) – The National Weather Service Monterey has issued a small craft advisory, which is a wind warning on Saturday morning until 3 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 20. Monterey police arrest father and son suspected of having illegal firearms According to the advisory, northwest winds are expected to blow at 10 to 20 knots with gusts up to 40 knots. (BCN) -- The University of California is committing $7 million to address what officials called "acts of bigotry, intolerance, and intimidation," including incidents of Islamophobia and antisemitism, that have occurred over the past several weeks on its campuses, where tensions are high because of the Israel-Hamas war. Michael Drake, UC's systemwide president, announced the funding during the board of regents meeting Wednesday and said it would go toward emergency mental health resources, new educational programs and additional training for leadership, faculty and staff. A man was shot and killed in Northeast D.C. Wednesday evening and police are on the lookout for a suspect.Police said 38-year-old Carlos Javier-Blanco Fernandez was found with gunshot wounds when police responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 5 p.m. near the 2200 block of New York Avenue.Fernandez was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.Police have yet to release further details about the incident or potential suspects.Police are asking anyone with information about the suspect to call them at 202-727-9099 as there will be a reward of up to $25,000.Below is a map where the shooting took place: SourceLatest news
